CURE Auto-Disable Syringe, 1 mL

Overview

The CURE Auto-Disable Syringe is a sterile, single-use 1 mL syringe with a built-in auto-disable mechanism. After the dose is delivered, the syringe is automatically rendered unusable, so it cannot be refilled or reused. The World Health Organization recommends auto-disable syringes for administering vaccines in immunisation programmes.

How to use

1. Check the pack is intact and within expiry.
2. Draw up the prescribed dose. Do not draw back and forth: the mechanism may activate.
3. Inject the full dose; the syringe locks automatically.
4. Dispose of immediately in a sharps container. Do not recap.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Precautions

• Single use only: the syringe cannot be reused once activated.
• Do not use if the packaging is damaged.
• Dispose of in a puncture-resistant sharps container.
